Ginn’s Blue
Ridge Mountain Masterpiece!
Located on
6,300 acres of Blue Ridge splendor, Ginn Laurelmor will be limited

Ginn Laurelmor is envisioned to ignite
the reemergence of the true mountain club experience. It will offer

will be the most
expensive golf course in the United States. It will also
feature a multi-million dollar spa and fitness facility,
exquisite
fine dining, championship tennis, rock climbing, Camp Laurelmor for kids, paintball, exclusive X-games trails, ice
skating, fly fishing, an
equestrian center and more. It is truly the
most spectacular resort undertaking ever east of the Mississippi and
will live on for generations
to come. Laurelmor is in a class of its
own.
The task of realizing the Ginn
Laurelmor vision in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina lies
in the expert hands of the Ginn Resorts

North America’s foremost developers
and operators of resort

unpretentious service, but with a variety of opportunities
to
celebrate precious time reserved exclusively for family and friends.

and family gatherings will all center on the hearth of your
signature mountain home. Fashioned
from stylish natural materials
such as stone, granite and timber, your home at Ginn Laurelmor will
allow you to embrace mountain
living while reveling in modern
comfort. Open floor plans, media rooms, state-of-the-art appliances
will honor the past while embracing
the present.

Area Information
top
Laurelmor
is located between the quaint towns of Boone & Blowing Rock, North
Carolina
in Wilkes and Watauga County. The 6,000+ acres that Laurelmor spans is large enough to take both Boone and Blowing Rock
and place them
within the town of Laurelmor.

Boone acquires
its name from the famous pioneer and explorer Daniel Boone, who on
several occasions camped at a site generally agreed to
be within the
present city limits. Boone was served by the narrow gauge East
Tennessee and Western North Carolina Railroad (nicknamed
"Tweetsie")
until the flood of 1940. Boone is the home of Appalachian State
University, a constituent member of the University of North
Carolina. Appalachian State is the fifth largest university in the
sixteen campus system. Caldwell Community College & Technical
Institute
also operates a satellite campus in Boone.
Boone has an elevation of 3,266 ft (995.5 m) above sea level. During
summer, high temperatures in Boone are typically 80 °F (27 °C) or
below,
noticeably cooler than the lowland areas to the east and
south, and summers are also considerably less humid than in other
parts of the
Carolinas. The dramatic elevation changes help Boone
rank among the top in the United States for golf destinations.
During the winter you
can enjoy some of the best skiing east of the
Mississippi at the nearby skiing resorts Sugar and Beach Mountain.
The town of Blowing Rock takes its name from an unusual rock
formation which juts over 1,500 feet above the Johns River gorge.
Due to the
rock's shape and size, wind currents from the gorge often
blow vertically, causing light objects to float upwards into the
sky. The Blowing Rock
area was once fought over by the Cherokee and
Catawba Native American tribes. According to legend, two lovers -
one from each tribe - were
walking near the rocks when the man
received a notice to report to his village and go into battle. When
his lover urged him to stay with her,
he became so distraught that
he threw himself off the blowing rock into the gorge. The woman
prayed to the Great Spirit to return her lover,
and the Spirit
complied by sending a gust of wind which blew the man back up the
cliff and landed him safely on the blowing rock itself. Today
"The
Blowing Rock" is a popular tourist attraction and is well-known for
its superb views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.
Another popular tourist attraction in Blowing Rock is the Tweetsie
Railroad theme park, which is home to the only remaining
fully-functional
steam engine train in North Carolina. Visitors to Tweetsie can ride the train for three miles and enjoy the mountain
scenery; the park also
contains traditional amusement-park rides and
attractions.
